About the Project
CollaboLearn is a research and school development project that grew out of a collaboration between Langagerskolen, Aarhus Municipality, and researchers at the Interacting Minds Centre, Aarhus University. The project combines the latest insights into neurodiversity, play, learning, and reflection with special pedagogy. In the project, we have put basic research into practice to strengthen the inclusion of autistic children in social communities.
Researchers, pedagogues, teachers, psychologists, and school leaders have worked together to develop all the inspirational material that you find here on the website. It has been co-created based on the feedback that we have received from the children through our many tests of prototypes. The material has been developed for educators who want to work with social learning through motivating and exploratory learning processes. The material inspires to build a learning environment that motivates both children and adults to engage in and reflect on their learning together with each other through play activities and reflection routines.
Although the material has been developed with children on the autism spectrum in mind, together with Højvangskolen we have experience that non-autistic children also benefit from such a playful learning environment, and that you can also easily use the material as inspiration for designing learning environments for regular school subjects.
This project is supported by the VELUX FOUNDATION. Our work is also supported by Trygfonden, Carlsbergfondet, and the PlayTrack-project at IMC. The LEGO Foundation has donated bricks.
